Fringes and picots are often used for embellishment of beaded jewelry. Some stitches, like St. Petersburg and herringbone, have a natural picot edge. Others don't, but that doesn't mean that you can't add one to them. Fringes are essential part of traditional brick stitch triangle earrings, but you can put them on anything. There are so many variations of beaded fringe that you can actually make a whole piece just out of fringes.

Swishy fringe! Sometimes you just have to use it. The movement it gives pieces is amazing. Wonderful feature.

I like to see them sway as wearers walk. It's also a good way to cover more skin without making a too chunky piece.

You created another splendid and very informative collection. I have to say I hate making long fringes :) but there are some designs where you just can't get around it. And thanks for including my necklace with unusual trim.

After I made the white hair band I swore I'll never do another coral again. I started to really hate them. Shorter fringe with long bugles, on the other hand, I can deal with.
You are always welcome.
