Plated DessertsPlating can be such an underrated art form at times. I've often heard it dismissed as 'boring', 'sterile' and criticised for all looking the same. Maybe we just have a tendency to lust after the rustic, messy desserts. Maybe we like to tear down what is seen as a hoity-toity way of presenting food. Or maybe we just don't see the skill and technique that goes into plating.
Skillful plating up of food requires a good eye, a steady hand and a flair for design. Careful consideration goes into everything from which way the dish is offset, to the type of garnishes on it, to the type of plate it is presented on. It, in turn, necessitates learning a whole host of other skills and techniques to create the garnishes that adorn the dish.

New Bobini Head Preview! Blast from the Past...I mentioned in my journal a few days ago that I was working on a new head pattern to make my Bobinies more like their illustrative counterparts with their noses and more rounded cat-like heads, and this morning I nailed it.

Ignoring the random cotton choice, it was the only one to hand in a super speedy spin of creativity!
I was looking back through my gallery, and after swallowing my pride I finally accepted to myself that I had in some ways taken a step backwards with my plushies. Comparing the Guardians to the Bobinies resulted in a mini temper tantrum followed by a creative explosion and many MANY new head prototypes

Thank you Talty!As some of you might know, today was `Talty's last day as a CV. So I wanted to take a moment to celebrate all she has achieved for our 'little' Artisan Crafts community, and ask you join me in thanking her for all her hard work.
I, like many of you, know my dA experience would have been very different if not in part for `Talty's hard work. She (along with ^maytel) found me when I was an obscure newbie and sought to expose me and my gallery to the wider community through a Daily Deviation and numerous features. Her words of encouragement, support and her actions helped me to grow as an artist, and helped me be recognised for it. This is a story I share with many of you for whom she has done all she can to help and bring exposure to.

I've Got A Bet For You!Hello Everyone! Haley here with another Journal. As you can see in our last Journal, we had some cosplays in the works. We still do. I'm working on My Zexion, Dave, Rigby, and a surprise~ You'll hear more on this later.
As The title says, I've decided to place a bet with you, the loving watchers. The bet is: When we reach 100 Watchers, I'll dress up as Ciel, or a character I have a wig for at that time, and put them in a dress, and make a cutsie sign. Maybe if Bre or Jo-Jo have wigs by then, they'll do the same~ Let's see how fast we can reach 100 Watchers. Cosplay Wig Bangs...Pissing me off for Noel KreissI swear, if there is one thing that's been grinding my gears, it's cosplay wig bangs.
Snow Villiers? No problem with his bandana to keep his hair in place.
Noel Kreiss....okay, now were getting a little too exact. I tend to be a picky with how things look on my cosplay, and sometimes there are things I can't help. But those bangs...on Noel's hair...are annoying. I thought it was simple, and overtime as I snipped little by little, I began to realize that his bangs are all placed a certain way and snipped to a certain point.
The center bang is long at the middle, enough to reach between the eyes while the sides of that particular bang are shorter. Though, at different angles, it actually seems like there's two bangs rather than one center one similar to Snow Villiers. One that's just long and the other short (the short one located furthest away where his hair parts)
